Jennifer Aguirre is a resident counselor who utilizes art and play to create a safe, warm, and judgment-free environment for her clients. She believes that by fostering creativity in her clients, they will be able to self-express themselves in a way that aids their emotional well-being and help understand their inner conflicts. She achieves this by using art therapy interventions with a focus on Jungian, Transpersonal, and Contemplative approaches. She believes that artmaking has the power to bring forth inner struggles, and address them as their own separate entities. Jennifer also has experience with play-centered interventions, such as sandtray therapy and DIR/ Floortime® therapy informed interventions. Her choices of non-traditional therapy approaches work well with a non-verbal and verbal communication style. She works with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, identity, and self-esteem by meeting them where they are at in their journey.
