Kristen Killie is a resident counselor who creates a warm, welcoming, and safe environment where you’re encouraged to express your authentic self and work toward individual growth. She leads with a humanistic approach, while often integrating elements of nature informed therapy, IFS, DBT, somatic, and mindfulness techniques. By rediscovering core strengths, Kristen’s holistic approach facilitates growth toward improving overall mental wellness. Kristen earned a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and Art History from Roanoke College in 2012. She integrated this creative passion into her graduate work at Marymount University, where she obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Kristen is a certified nature informed therapist and has completed level 1 training with the Center of Nature Informed Therapy. Kristen enjoys working with adolescents and adults with focus areas including anxiety, depression, women’s issues, life transitions and eating disorders. In addition, Kristen enjoys supporting all mothers, including those experiencing perinatal challenges. Through personal and academic experiences, Kristen has developed skills that will help guide you along your journey toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. Through collaboration, Kristen will support you in rediscovering your authentic self and needs in order for you to live the life you want and deserve.
